Visiting Hours and Policies
You may have visitors around the clock. However, our staff will work with patients and families, especially if you are in a room with two beds, to allow patients time to rest and sleep. In some cases, visiting hours vary according to the location and condition of the patient. Please look for signs indicating special visiting hours on a particular unit or ask our receptionist.
Visits are allowed daily
- From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m.
Visiting hours for patients in Intensive Care is from
- 8 to 8:30 a.m., 1 to 2 p.m. and 8 to 8:30 p.m.
- Only one person will be allowed to stay overnight with the patient.
We encourage families to stay in the room while the patient is transferred to the operating room and wait there for your doctor to provide you information in person or by telephone.
It is important that whenever a child visits, the emphasis is placed on the child´s best interests, with particular reference to their protection, and upon making the visit a positive experience for the child visitor.
Children can be restricted from visiting a patient in the same manner as adults. In some units, you need to ask permission for children to visit you and some units insist that children under 12 are accompanied by an adult.
In accordance with federal health laws, and to promote safety and prevent diseases, children under the age of 12 are not allowed entry as visitors to the hospital. Exceptions are granted only if children under the age of 12 are accompanied by and under the direct supervision of a responsible adult, other than the patient, and if the patient who they are visiting is staying in a private room.
